Hebrews 12:24 You have come to Jesus, who arranged the new covenant, and to the sprinkled blood that promises much better things than does the blood of Abel.
Abel’s blood represents the sacrifice he offered to God, symbolizing Christ’s future crucifixion. Through this offering, Abel was declared righteous, and even after his death, his faith and gifts continue to speak through God’s testimony.
Hebrews 11:4 By faith Abel offered unto God a more excellent sacrifice than Cain, by which he obtained witness that he was righteous, God testifying of his gifts: and by it he being dead yet speaketh.
Genesis 4:10 – And he said, What hast thou done? the voice of thy brother’s blood crieth unto me from the ground.
Just as Abel’s blood was buried in the ground, so too is the blood of redemption hidden from view. The promise in Genesis 3:15-16 must be fulfilled, but the enemy seeks to prevent it.
Genesis 3:15-16 – “….and between thy seed and her seed; it shall bruise thy head, and thou shalt bruise his heel.
This blood symbolizes the redemptive blood of Christ. In the same way Cain concealed Abel’s blood, those who crucified Jesus—such as the high priest, the Pharisees, and others—hid Him in the tomb, attempting to suppress His role as the Savior of humanity.
When we fail to share the gospel with others in our communities, schools, and workplaces, we act like Cain, hiding the blood of redemption, which has the power to save souls. God’s judgment on Cain was not only because he killed Abel but also because he concealed the message of redemption.
But hallelujah, Christ arose! Even if we do not preach the gospel, it will still speak. However, woe to me if I do not share the Good News!
1 Corinthians 9:16 – “Yet preaching the Good News is not something I can boast about. I am compelled by God to do it. How terrible for me if I didn’t preach the Good News!”
Prayer:
Lord Jesus, help me to obey Your command to preach the gospel. Give me the strength and courage to lift high the royal banner of Christ wherever You place me, whether at work, in my neighborhood, or elsewhere.
